A big thank you to the parents and education staff at Winston Glades Early Education Centre who attended the presentation on Neurodiversity.
We examined the various spectrums of neurodiverse conditions, early signs for parents and educators that might suggest a potential diagnosis, the disparity in diagnosis between boys and girls, and delved into understanding emotions, aiming for emotional depth and breadth. We also addressed co-occurring conditions with neurodiversity, distinguishing between a tantrum and an overload, and provided tools to support individuals when stimuli are heightened. Additionally, we discussed attachment theory to identify possible markers of neurodiversity in children and how parents and educators can begin self-care.
